AF Acoustics are a small acoustic consultancy providing noise and vibration services to clients in the construction and planning sectors. We work on a range of projects large and small, from large Environmental Statements to small projects with small business, architects, planners and builders.

Position 1
Experienced Acoustic and Noise Consultants

Are you looking for a challenging opportunity with an exciting company? AF Acoustics welcomes applications from those who have experience in the field of acoustic or noise consultancy, and are interested in joining their team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small to medium environmental and planning projects from a technical, financial, quality and client satisfaction perspective
  • Support senior colleagues on larger projects
  • Manage and deliver client reports
  • Analyse data and turn it into insight
  • Lead or participate in client meetings
  • Undertake surveys and site visits
  • Liaise with planning authorities and stakeholders
  • Business development – networking, writing articles, blogs and case studies

requirements Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-year experience in acoustic consultancy
  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in Acoustics
  • MIOA or working toward MIOA
  • Experience in environmental acoustics, noise impact assessments and sound insulation testing
  • Current driving license and willingness to travel in the UK
  • Good verbal communication and report writing skills
  • Great people skills
  • Excellent Excel Skills
  • London based (flexible working)

Graduate/Postgraduate Recruitment

AF Acoustics welcome applications from graduates/postgraduates to work on projects across all our clients and sectors.

You will be looking to start a career in Acoustics and be a self-motivated, hands-on, team player with a good educational background. Experience isn’t as important as a desire to learn in a flexible company with a willingness to muck in on interesting and varied projects.

Role and Responsibilities

This is a training position, and your work will include:

  • Installation and de-commissioning of monitoring equipment
  • Noise surveys
  • Computer modelling for environmental noise assessments
  • Environmental noise assessments
  • Prediction and calculation of sound insulation
  • Sound insulation testing
  • Report writing
  • Client management
  • Business development – networking, writing articles, blogs and case studies
  • Personal and professional development towards full membership of the Institute of Acoustics

  • A good degree in acoustics, physics, engineering, or a similar maths-based subject
  • Desire to develop a career in Acoustics
  • Good practical skills
